Visit Paul if you crave for a taste of France~
I believe it's one of the best French Boulangerie & Patisserrie in London..... If La Duree was the Queen, Paul would be ranked as Duke -- more accessible (being chained) and friendlier...although Paul is not as salient in the making of Macaroons as La Duree is, it has a greater selection in breads and patisserrie... and I vouch that some of Paul's desserts are better than (and less sweet than) those in LaDuree.
Above: Chocolate Millefeuille, Macaroon, Cappuccino (-^8^-)
Paul's macaroon is characterized by big size and generous filling~
below: one half is Coffee, the other is Hazelnut..... I forget the right orientation... I love Hazelnut more than Coffee cuz it's nutty and less sweet~
The creamy oozy filling of pistachio macaroon... wouldn't you feel like taking a huge bite?
The interior and exterior of the PAUL adjacent to the St Paul's Cathedral
This is another PAUL at Covent Garden.
There's a spacial sitting area where you can actually order from their Cafe Menu which isn't offered at the PAUL at St Paul's.
The 2 tarts I like a lot: Pear Tart & Blue Berry Tart...... I didn't like their Almond tart tho...
Le Fraisier & Latte (Highly recommend!)
Look at this beautiful creation.... love the soft palette of green, yellow, and red.... love the fresh taste... not overly sweet or creamy at all.... it's just a perfect balance of the tartness and sweetness with flavour of milk and egg...
I had French scrambled eggs with PAUL Ancien bread, and my friend had Croque Monsieur with a mixed salad and fresh orange juice.
I was so happy with my yummy meal since I hadn't had egg for so long...lol and I love eggs!
We sat by the bread-making counter and the oven.... how cool is that!
I felt so into the scene~
