Subliminal Retreat~

This is my favorite angel out of the four flanking the monument of Saint Joseph.
I feel so touched by her expression... and I love this picture (perfect shooting angle LoL...).

I am neither a Catholic nor a Christian... However I do believe in divine power, that there's something surpasses human control.
I just don't think that such a divinity is restricted to a certain existing religion... if I have to choose to believe something.... I don't really follow all the rules stipulated by any religion. Rather, I believe that there's this one divine being that takes forms of different deities in different religions, and I can communicate with the "God" in all kinds of religious spaces, be it church, temple, stupa, or mosque.
Anyways, that's not the point of this post.... let's go back to the Saint Joseph's Oratory~

This basilica is so very big and consists of many parts that I'll need to write several entries to show them all...so this is only Part I

I attended an English Mass at he Crypt Churchlast Sunday. This picture was taken before the Mass started, so it looks a bit dim. The church is very spacious. I sat at the first row of the second section from the front and on the left.
To be honest, I enjoyed the singing part than the actual speech of the rector and visiting bishop from India which reminded me of attending a not-so exciting lecture at school.
The songs, on the other hand, were soo beautiful~


Now here's gonna be the highlight of my visit~ The Votive Chapel adjacent to the Crypt Church.
The Central Lamp-stand took my breath away!



You can make donation in the votive boxes on the sides and then walk up the narrow stairs to light up candles using bamboo sticks found near the top or the bottom of the sea of lamps.





I felt at peace looking at the statue of Saint Joseph and the background light... what a great design~



In the middle of the following picture are the 5 lamps that I lit up. I believe Saint Joseph will look after my wishes and make sure they come true! hahaha... (Merci Beaucoup!)
