Pad Thai is one of my favorite Thai dish. For those who doesn't know what it is, here's the the definition from Wiki: "Pad Thai is a dish of stir-fried rice noodles with eggs, fish sauce (Thai น้ำปลา), tamarind juice, red chilli pepper, plus any combination of bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken, or tofu, garnished with crushed peanuts and coriander."
Last month I discovered a comfy place to have bon-marché(less than $10 CAD), and yummy pad thai-- Thai Express.
I can vouch for the good quality of Pad Thai at one location --- boulevard de Maisonneuve cross Rue Guy (less than a minute walk from Guy-Concordia Metro Station)
because I tried Thai Express at the Eaton Center's food court and it wasn't as good (less ingredients and too light in the taste).
Anyways.... I love this Thai Express.
During my 5-week stay in Montreal, here's the place I went to sate my crave for taste of Asian cuisine, and for scramble egg, and for a hot(not cold) but appetizing dish in Summer afternoon.
It's clean, spacious, and even equipped with a Plasma TV!
Don't need to feel embarrassed to eat in alone... there's a lot of students here. I'd seen some eating and studying, or using their laptops.
Staffs are friendly too! (I heard some of them speaking Cantonese!)
Pad Thai with shrimps was what I ordered the first time there.
I sprinkled crushed peanuts and squeezed a little sweet & spicy sauce on the side (as shown in the first picture)
This dish was hot, sauce and ingredients were plentiful, egg was soft....
I can still remember how happy and grateful I was after having the Pad Thai.
I've also tried their soup with lemon-grass base and I liked it.
So if you like Pad Thai or would like to try a good version of it, you should come and have a taste.
I think you'll enjoy it as much as I did! ^^
